Finnfors power plant museum

Visit Skellefteälven’s first power station and relive history. The more than 100-year-old power station stands intact with generators, instruments, and turbines, beautiful architecture, and astonishing technology.

The museum also offers a photo exhibition about the people of the village. It is a nice excursion destination for the whole family. In Teknikboa, both young and old can experiment and have fun.

Wander around on your own or join a guided tour

As a visitor, you can wander around on your own or join a guided tour to learn more about the facility and those who worked there.

Among other things, you get to follow the water’s path up to the turbines, see how technology rapidly developed over a few decades, and what the days in a power station looked like in the early 20th century.

Take part in a photo exhibition that shows the life and people around the power station from 1910 until the 1960s. Also visit the Machinists’ Residence, Finnfors’ oldest house, which was built for the machinists and their families at the beginning of the last century.

Have fun in the technology booth and the robbers’ cave
For the children, a visit to the technology boa is always appreciated. In the technology booth, they can try different quirky things and play. On the gable end of the technical booth, we have built a robbers’ cave where you can listen to the exciting story of the Finnfors robbers.
